I got offered 40% refund instead of returning it when I complained. I think they buy the stuff cheap from china, ad a lot (!) to the price and still makes a profit even with the 40% refund.

I have received an item that is clearly defective and if I return it for the almost $50cad that it cost, I will pay the same (or more) for shipping. I have been offered a 40% refund to keep it and throw it away. Extremely disappointing. Excellent Customer Services I bought the pocket microscopes for my nieces birthday but neglected to find the postage times. After discovering that they take a little longer than I'm used to, I decided to pursue a refund. Customer services were excellent and the refund was in my account the next day. I did request the refund before the order had been despatched but they replied to my email within the hour. Very quick, very helpful and very understanding. For a problem that was entirely of my own making, at that. Five stars.
