NZAvoid vendor lock-in with Apress PDF books Apress is the best place to buy computer programming ebooks because they are available in PDF format that can be viewed on any device. I recently wanted to clear my purchase history on Amazon and my only option was to delete my Amazon account and make a new one. I lost several books in the process. Now I try to buy only PDF books exclusively. Apress also has a wide selection of books on almost any programming topic. I have found them to be very informative.

GBA press has a broad library and a team… A press has a broad library and a team of author practitioners. Many books are published soon after a technology gets some mindshare. At $99 a year, the subscription is an EXCELLENT VALUE!

GBWide selection of technical titles I've been an Apress customer for almost ten years and have noticed how it has steadily gotten better with time. Apress Access, in particular, provides unprecedented access to digital e-books related to very specific programming-related topics. The company constantly pushes out relevant and updated material that keeps up with the times. One of the nicest features is that Apress gives user the option to download books in EPUB and PDF formats. Both support the majority of e-reading devices. Sadly, the company stopped supporting MOBI formats for Amazon devices a few years ago. That means customers have to perform an additional conversion step if they want to use devices that only read MOBI files.

GBHigh quality books and great value subscription I have been buying books by Apress for many years now and the quality of the books is generally very good. I have subscribed to Apress Access for the past year which offers excellent value. My only criticism of this service is that it would be better if there was a dedicated reader provided as an app rather than it simply providing books in PDF or EPUB format. The website is ok but can be slow at times and the browsing and searching could be better but it does the job. Overall: good quality books and a subscription that is excellent value. Website could be better, hence the loss of a star.

GBThe newest edition of the book I wanted… The newest edition of the book I wanted wasn't available at the usual retailers (Amazon) until June. So, I ordered direct from Apress. The book was sent from Germany to the UK in 10 working days. Not bad considering the recent logistical issues post Brexit. Overall, the printing of the book is good, all pages are straight and the font sizes are a decent size.
