Nothing is Optimum about Optimum Optimum by far is the absolute worst cell phone provider I have ever had. All agents are overseas and you cannot get an agent within the United States. The level of customer service is deplorable. Had I known this I would not have signed up with Optimum. Week 1 I logged more that 16 hours trying to get issues resolved from data to voicemail. It's been a nightmare. Do your homework. Make sure you have representatives who are in the U.S. the customer service will be better.

WORST EVER WORST EVER! Coverage was not great and the number of times they had “issues” leaving me without a phone (once for 3 days!) were waaaay too many. The worst part was that after I cancelled them they continued to take $ from my account for two months! When I tried to get a refund I was told that they only give “account credit” refunds which of course was worthless to me DONT give this company your bank info!!!!

If there was negative stars I would use… If there was negative stars I would use that. My 91 yr old mother called to get 500 mbps internet service and was duped into a 1 gig internet and mobile plan - she needed neither and the salesperson completely took advantage of her. I called and emailed multiple times and they still charged her and went so far as to schedule an installation. After being transferred several times, I was transferred to a very helpful gentleman named William in redemptions who was able (I hope) to cancel the service. Now I am being told the refund will take 45 days. This is a complete scam- they charged her card within minutes of the initial call and even though I called and she called to cancel within 90 minutes. I am going to petition her retirement facility to switch away from Optimum asap and move to a more reputable company that doesn't prey on senior citizens.

I switched to Optimum Mobile in hopes… to save a few dollars. I switched to Optimum Mobile in hopes of saving a few dollars as I'm on a fixed income and my internet/phone service had increased by $22/month. They gave me a $5 discount per month on my internet/phone if I took their $25/month mobile plan as opposed to AT&T $65/month. It wasn't even a full week and already they were sending me text messages to up my service for more money. When I inquired about these text messages the agent stated those were only suggestions and that nothing would happen with my service. Today my service tanked and I have nearly ZERO bandwidth using the mobile data. BACK TO AT&T...!

Terrible Cell Phone Service, Great Wi-Fi The service at the location was great, but the service from the Optimum Cell Phone is horrible. I was offered a package deal on cell phone service when I purchased the Optimum Wi-fi. Being retired the $15 per month I would save by switching from Pure Talk to Optimum phone service sounded like a good deal - $10 off wi-fi and $5 off cell phone service. This, even though I was only getting 1 gig with Optimum whereas I has 2 Gigs with Pure Talk which gave me 5 star service. Bad mistake. Just a few things about Optimum: No ringing when I make a call, just silence until someone answers or a voicemail message. I called Optimum and also went by their office. Neither could do anything about it. No icon letting me know if I have VM. When I call VM, the first thing is to enter my passcode which is not easy to do. I have to hit the numbers just right or I get the same instructions over and over until I hang up, because if you miss it the first time, you get no more chances to get it right. If and when I get it right, a long message follows. Then the VM. Then a long message on all the options. Again, hitting an option number sometimes will never work. There are some more problems with VM. Also, when I get a VM followed by options (as to listen to the VM, delete and redo, etc.), it does not respond to my option, just keeps repeating until I hang up. I do not believe I can do a conference call. It was easy with Pure Talk, but I find no way to do a conference call with Optimum. Etc. To sum it up, the cell phone service is terrible. However, the wi-fi is fantastic.
