CAReferral Code: RAX8TXM Oxio is the "cool" internet provider. Let me share some background - my wife and I both work from home and in the tech industry. When it comes to internet, we need speed. We have bounced around a few providers across the nation from Shaw, to Telus (both pure fiber & rural), to independent providers. I would classify Oxio as the happy medium between all of those - and a steal for the price! They use Rogers/Shaw networks but for a lower price. We opted for their highest package for 1000 Mbps at $90/month (plus tax, of course) and have been sincerely satisfied! Setup: The setup process wsa very self explanatory. To get started, simply go to their website and input your service address. A bunch of pricing options will populate. Follow the instructions to proceed with the application (name, email, address, etc.) until you get to router selection. Their Eero 6 router is pretty decent to use (comes with antivirus and ad block), and just 1 of those can easily suffice for a 1 to 2 bedroom unit (up to 1500 sqft). Get more routers for a nominal fee if you have a bigger home. Once you submit the details, be sure to use my referral code at payment checkout to get your first month completely free: RAX8TXM That's it! Now you book a time for a tech to show up, and wait for the device to be shipped! If you still want a breakdown of what's what, see below. Pros: Decent price, strong network, no setup costs, first month free (with referral code: RAX8TXM), no contract term, and 60-day full refund satisfaction guarantee! Cons: no phone support - although they have pretty responsive support over text or direct messaging, there is no phone number you can call for emergencies.

CABad company dont waste your time or money. Very very bad company. My internet kept going out 4-5 times a day, (2-3 weeks) kept texting them since thats their only communication they give you, nothing else. I asked for someone to come to the house and check everything and they told me no since there is nothing on their end showing anything wrong. They sent me a new modem and still had the same problem. Finally they sent someone out here after complaining again and they fixed some cables in the back, hoping that would solve the issue. I asked if they would compensate me since this has been going on since i got their internet and paying for their top speed ($100), they said yes once it was resolved. For maybe a week it didnt mess up and then I asked about the compensation and they said "no, since there wasnt a 24hr outage they arent going to compensate me." They wanted to send me another modem and i said forget it im going with MNSI. Very bad experience with them.

CABest and cheapest internet company in Alberta I have been with Oxio for almost two years to date. Excellent and stable internet plans. I am on 75 Mbps for only 49$ / mo. Equipment is already included for free (no rental crap, and you only need to buy an optical cable --> 5$). Internet is stable, fast, and easily configurable by an app on your mobile phone. These guys, prices and quality, beat the big names. Also, if you like having your first subscription month totally free, you can use my referral code and we both get a month free (still active, 2024): R7AUNNA

CAReally terrible Really terrible. Tried to set our internet up with Oxio but the modem they sent didn't work. Our previous modem DID work on the same line, so we kept our previous internet while we tried to troubleshoot. After trying everything, we still couldn't connect. At that point, we tried to recover our online account password (my partner lost the one we signed up with) so that we could put a pause or disconnect but we recieved no password reset link. Essentially locked out of our account with a bricked device, we gave up for a bit and kept using our past internet provider. Ideally we should have pushed more, but life stuff happened and so we didn't have a chance to follow up immediately. When we reached out again a month or so later to see if we could troubleshoot, they booked a tech to show up who then did not show up. But they informed us that the internet should be working now after they did something on their end; still didn't work. At this point, we had racked up a bill for internet that had never been provided for us. So we were now trying to both troubleshoot the service while also trying to negotiate to have them compensate us for the months we didn't have access. Ultimately, they were unwilling to compensate us, and the internet is STILL not working. So we are going to cancel, pay our balance (for internet service that we never recieved) and our only recourse is to tell the world how crappy OXIO is.

CAGoing back to Telus I had Telus fiber for two years prior to switching. I've had oxio for less than a month and already having outages, all lights on modem locked on and the white light on eero six but it's so garbage it still just refuses to connect online. I'll be switching back, wanted to give the other guys a shot but what poo service.
