I'm so incredibly grateful to Family Search I'm so incredibly grateful to Family Search. In one day, I learned more about my family history than in my entire life. I found the exact towns several of my great-grandparents were from. I also found that my great-grandparents lived in the same building I always hang out in, and that I always felt a magnetic attraction to! I even made an offer for an apartment in the building right nextdoor and was in love with it without even knowing that family lived anywhere near there. It was the best feeling to find this family synchronicity and to know it will be possible to visit the towns of my origins. Many thanks to Family Search for this magical gift!

I thought this was a great website that… I thought this was a great website that led me to ancestors I never knew about until....... I followed several lines of my supposed ancestors including Kings and Queens of England, France and Spain and countless other royalty all the way back to Julius Caesar. It became suspect at the very least. The complete deal breaker was the line that showed I was descended from the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. This is a disgustingly dishonest ripoff. I feel ashamed to even give it one star.

Overall a good site Overall a good site. One problem I do have is on occasion it will list TWO sets of parents. One listed as "preferred". Looking for FACTS not multiple "possible" parents listed. Lot of dead ends I was hoping to clear up. No more information than every other ancestry site. Made the mistake of starting a family tree on family search. Tree went under my father, not me. I am listed individualy, no link to family. Look up how to delete person, "from the drop down menu...". THERE IS NO DROP DOWN MENU ON THE PERSON PAGE. How do I merge? "From the drop down menu...". MULTIPLE PEOPLE have left feedback on the site about problems with or deleting tree, CAN'T DELETE. CAN'T make changes. Like I said, overall lot of good information. Many times sources are listed, which is WHY I like the site better than most. But FAR from perfect!

The new website is totally unusable The new website is totally unusable. I couldn't edit a person record to change the date from 1936 to 1836. That fix would have eliminated the web-generated complaint that the mother's birth was after the child (someone put the date in wrong -- should we be eternally punished for it?) I can't even register for the community board because it doesn't accept my username and says "Verified, is not an integer." I won't use this tool for my family tree. I'll stick with Ancestry. Their website doesn't suck.
