GBBe Careful!! I downloaded Foxit pdf editor on 14 day free trial basis to see if I could use it for a specific document I was trying edit but was unable to - no doubt due to my own ineptness and no reflection on the software. However, once downloaded it insinuated itself as the default pdf editor and changed all the pdfs on my computer retrospectively to Foxit. So when the free trial ended and I didn't pursue the purchase I could no longer access any of my pdfs even though they were not created using Foxit. The uninstall component that came with Foxit didn't work. I had a horrible moment of feeling that I was being held to ransom to pay for software I didn't need or want but I found a way to uninstall it in the end and the pdfs (prior to the installation date) reverted to Adobe. It was scary though and I feel its deliberately built to do this.

GBThere is no other PDF Compression/Conversion Software like this. The software worked excellently and converted my .TIF files to .PDF and retained my folder structure. I was unable to find any other software with these batch features that was anywhere near a reasonable price. This was performed on a server with over 170,000 files and over 1700 nested folders. Overall there were only 2 errors, and those resulted from a corrupted source document. Great software!

CABuggy license subscription and awful customer service I attempted to transfer my Foxit licence from an old computer to a new one, however the software appears to have a bug and won't allow re-activation. I already deactivated the licence on my old computer so it could be reactivated on the new one—this used to work before, but no longer does. When I created a support ticket, they did not resolve my issue but just closed the ticket saying it was resolved because they "cannot keep the ticket open for so long". Frustrating and extremely unprofessional.

GBNot worth even one star Not worth even one star despite being used for over a year. The real problem started with a machine upgrade at which point I discovered that the registration code didn't work because the original version was no longer downloadable. After some digging I found a page on the support website that "converted" old codes to new, but my original code was declared invalid, despite being printed on the invoice. No access to support either, no human support, no available office in the UK. Forget it, I'll find something else.

GBSaves gigabytes of space on our network storage Pros: The compression works great and doesn't lose too much qulity. The OCR functionality allows us to search scanned documents, which we didn't have before PdfCompressor. We set up two watch directories, one that's used twice a week and one that's use at the end of each month. The one at the end of the month gets older files, before 2010, pulled in that need to be compressed and OCR'd. This uses up our monthly allowance of pages. Cons: Setting up the watch directories took a little bit to get right but that could be our fault for not reading enough documentation.
