Borderline fraudulent billing practices So, apparently my Spot tracker service got renewed each year for over 6 years (my mistake that I didn't check my credit card bills more thoroughly). I am certain that I tried to cancel the service back in 2014 after using it for a very narrowly defined purpose. No notification via mail, almost impossible to cancel now. I will blacklist them with my CC company and suggest to my outdoor shop to at least warn people when selling that product.

They employ what is known as a "Evergreen Clause" and make it *very difficult* to cancel their subscription services. You will be sorry if you do business with these SOBs..!!

This is the most unreliable GPS… This is the most unreliable GPS tracking system ive ever tried to use. Spot 4 would not acquire SAT's after over 10 attempts. Test sequence failed every time. Instructions on printed docs unfollowable as well as online. Very unclear and incomplete. If this device and support from spot is inept from the very beginning how can it be trusted with your LIFE in the field. Customer support person was very rude and her feelings hurt by stating this product sucks without a doubt. My prior experience is with MIL DAGR, and several other products that ive used in the past. Wanted to upgrade and thought this system was up to par. IT IS NOT! UNRELIABLE-Jen O'connell - do a better job with this company!

Fraudulent billing and virtually impossible to cancel Fraudulent billing policy! Basic subscription plan started at 100 euros per year, billed to a credit card (so you're unaware that there's a Direct Debit in place) then without your consent, auto-renews at 239 euros pa without any communication or notification. There is no way to cancel the service plan on their website. All contact forms lead to a phone number in Ireland, which takes 20 minutes to respond. Then the american operator offered me a $60 discounts as an incentive not to cancel. I don't trust that they have cancelled my subscription and will be cancelling my credit card just to be sure.

Not for marine/water based use These Trackers are mandatory for commercial fishermen in Australia, Queensland. The only waterproof part is the cord, we have had to replace numerous trackers due to just rain and dew let alone salt corrosion. This is why it's a 1 star as it's not suited for the field it's been specified for.
