This is the most unreliable GPS… This is the most unreliable GPS tracking system ive ever tried to use. Spot 4 would not acquire SAT's after over 10 attempts. Test sequence failed every time. Instructions on printed docs unfollowable as well as online. Very unclear and incomplete. If this device and support from spot is inept from the very beginning how can it be trusted with your LIFE in the field. Customer support person was very rude and her feelings hurt by stating this product sucks without a doubt. My prior experience is with MIL DAGR, and several other products that ive used in the past. Wanted to upgrade and thought this system was up to par. IT IS NOT! UNRELIABLE-Jen O'connell - do a better job with this company!

Less than a week old and NO-GO. I purchased the SPOT TRACE unit from West Marine on 27 May 2023. I have been unable to connect to the activation link in the Quick Start Guide in order to initiate service since then. I have tried multiple times per day. I thought it was due to the Memorial Day holiday. However, after reading all the 1-star reviews I plan to return this to West Marine. I get the feeling all the 1-star reviews would be 0-star reviews if there were such a lower rating.

Terrible customer service and zero Social Media Integration I ahve been using SPOT Gen 4 for 3 years now - the costs are high, monthly fee also has an added annual fee for no apparent reason plus there is a very expensive activation fee that appears to be for no good reason also. The GPS signal is fine is completely clear open areas (I am based in Scotland) but the slightest trees, thin forested area etc there is no GPS at all. However, the reason my group bought these was to take advantage of the link to Twitter so we could post automatically on twitter and parents could see their young person's progress on their expedition. Since we bought them we have always been unable to use this feature and every few months I ask when it will be fixed and get the same response - we have no timescales for when it will be working. When I complain I get the same response - sorry about that but can I help with anything else? Their customer service people don't care and are often rude on the live chat. I have started to move away from using them and buying other GPS tracker devices which do the same but without the terrible customer service and attitude. Wish I had never bought them!

I wouldn't trust these conmen with my life. After trying for ages to find a way to cancel my account online, I could not. Then I emailed their deactivation email address. No response to the first email, second email was bounced with a "Recipient address rejected: Access denied." response. So they just don't want to deal with me, but they are still going to take my money. I've had to resort to cancelling my credit card as there's no other way to stop these cowboys from taking my money. Never using again.

Absolutely horrid Absolutely horrid. Have you ever had customer service so scammy they outsource to Africa? Ever had a situation with any reputable company that they absolutely WILL NOT cancel your subscription under any circumstances and if you want to get out you need to claim fraud with your credit card company and get a whole new card? Me either until now. This company is a syphilitic corpuscle. Don't touch it with a ten foot pole.
