YNAB Changed EVERYTHING! I’ve always cared about my finances. Where was my money going? How was it being spent? Is my income more or less than my expenditures? ETC! YNAB helped me to not only see clearly how my finances were being used, but it helped me to create a clear and realistic opportunity to budget, spend, and plan. THANKS YNAB!

I love YNAB I love YNAB. It is like the old fashioned way of budgeting by putting cash in envelopes for each budget item, but way easier. It helps me see where my money is going and where I am overspending. It pushes me to make choices of what I want to fund. I have to make priorities. There are still some parts/functions of YNAB I don’t fully understand/use. Some parts can be confusing, but you can still get going in meantime.

A much better way to track your spending. Keeping track of the money you actually HAVE is a much better way to control your finances than to plan for money you may never earn. They are very receptive to suggestions and customer service is exemplary.

A decent replacement for Mvelopes A decent replacement for Mvelopes, which is why I chose it. (I like to have “extra” money left over in each budget category each month, so I have some in case the following month is unpredictable, and this was the only program where that seemed possible.) There are a few kinks/features I wish were possible. For example, I wish it were easier to focus on specific budget categories, and see reports on spending. (Ie, click a budget category, and see a register of expenditures and funding.) Also wish it were easier to have pre-set “funding plans” for a two paycheck month. Right now I have to fund each budget category manually for my first paycheck of the month, instead of having a template for half my budget. (It’s either all of nothing, if you want to fund several categories with one click, which makes it hard to do one paycheck at a time, vs an entire months budget.) There are definitely some features I wish were possible, but overall it functions decently for how I like to budget.

I def needed a budget The web app and iOS app work very intuitively. They're constantly pushing out updates. They've spawned a community centered around budget tips and tricks. They even have a robust video series to help you develop your own budget. As a bartender, income and expenses can be very hard to track. YNAB helped me build security into my budget by keeping track of where my money was going. I owe a great deal of my peace of mind to the convenience YNAB has contributed to my life.
