GBI love YNAB I love YNAB. It is like the old fashioned way of budgeting by putting cash in envelopes for each budget item, but way easier. It helps me see where my money is going and where I am overspending. It pushes me to make choices of what I want to fund. I have to make priorities. There are still some parts/functions of YNAB I don’t fully understand/use. Some parts can be confusing, but you can still get going in meantime.

GBIt's not the subject matter…it's how it's taught I enjoy the playful way you teach about basic budgeting. I think it's something that many people, myself included, miss growing up. People say you are just testing basic zero dollar budgeting, but it's not what you teach it's how. For the first time in a while I feel like I can rest any goal if I plan accordingly using your methods. You often say freedom comes from restriction and it can be surprising where and how extra money comes from in a budget. I can attest to that.

PHThe method just works! The 4 principles work great. Overall structure behind the app, just works wonderfully. Your relationship with money improves over period of time as you start seeing debt in a different light and see your net worth increase. Lastly, the great tutorial videos and blogs help clear any lingering doubts.

GBBetter Than Envelope System I have used and planned on returning to the "envelope system" and the first day, we went to a concert that was cashless. So, I started my search for something similar and came upon YNAB through Nick from Mapped Out Money. It took a bit of getting used to but now I ADORE IT. My husband lost his job over a year ago and I have never had as much money as I do right now. Those "surprise" expenses that used to derail me, are now taken care of without a second thought. An example is a credit card fee, I had been putting a few bucks aside for a year and when it hit, it was immediately paid for already. I have never lived life like this and now have a category to gift it to our nieces and nephews when they get older.

GBPeace of mind after you put in the work Really great method to get peace of mind about your financial situation. YNAB is best if you're willing to buy-in to their system: setting goals, categorizing every transaction. This app is especially great for people who have inconsistent income as it lets you plan ahead and know you have money to cover your expenses.
