Useful, but frustrating to deal with Clarivate. I find EndNote to be extremely useful, but the company seems to be getting greedy and is extremely unresponsive to user input. They capriciously take away features in new versions that were in older versions, like the ability to hide unused fields. Why would anyone take that away? Why can't I share certain libraries with other users, not just one library for everything? Etc. Etc.

There's no replacement for EndNote when… There's no replacement for EndNote when you want to inventory useful articles, find them again, and then footnote your paper. I have trouble syncing across Macs and also the pdf annotater is a bit limited compared to earlier EndNote versions. EndNote also sometimes corrupts my pdf's so I need to keep duplicates in a separate file. All in all, though, I couldn't live without the app.

Handy software, but three glitches need fixing In recent versions of EndNote, I've encountered three glitches that need fixing. First, when I click "Find Reference Updates", I can Update All Fields and Update Empty Fields, but I can no longer Edit Reference. I can't copy & paste from the online information, and I can't type into my version of the reference. Second, and related, I used to be able to delete a section in my version of the reference and then hit "Update Empty Fields" and continue editing, but now the program closes the whole window. Third, if I'm searching for a reference, I used to be able to type in, say, an author's name, then hit the tab button to get to the next search field. Now, however, the tab button takes me out of the search windows and into the list of references, which is inconvenient. Thanks.

The solidity of use The solidity of use! EN gives me confidence in my notes and references. Especially, that they will be where I can find them. EN is a vital part of my research. Here is an item on my wishlist: that typing in a new reference with a name and part of a title would generate websearch results and a list of citation choices. Other, programs offer that convenience but are not integrated as well into WORD, etc.

Improved but some features need to return Drag and drop of PDF files is a fantastic addition. Overall user interface is good, but would prefer to maintain the ability to open the reference details window as a separate pop-out window, one that is not confined to being along side the reference library window. Makes it tedious to edit text, and some functions (i.e., change case) are missing.
