CAMy Nikon Coolscan 9000 software busted… My Nikon Coolscan 9000 software busted August 25, 2014. I have used VueScan at least weekly ever since for B/W and color negs, transparencies, both 35mm and medium format. Being an ex-newspaper-magazine photographer I find all adjustments sufficient to obtain the results I was looking for usually at first attempt. I also use it for Epson 4490 flatbed scanner when scanning anything on paper. Thank you for a good product.

DEI am user of VueScan since nearly two… I am user of VueScan since nearly two decades (or more). There is no better scan-program I know. Means: Vuescan is simply the best! I use an very old epson-scanner and it is not nececcary for changing it. Use VueScan for lifetime – scanning in future will be easy! Matthew

GBGreat software for those who scan a lot I've been using ViewScan Professional for many years for many years (both for scanning sheets of paper and for scanning slides) and I intend to use it for many more! I've also installed it on some clients' machines. The main attractions of the software are: 1. It works on thousands of models of scanners, modern and old, and it is a great way to get the most from all of them while working with a consistent user interface. 2. It offers a huge range of features, supporting almost any feature built into a scanner (e.g. infrared pre-scan, sheet feeder) or even ones not built into the scanners in the first place such as multiple samples. These will probably only only be relevant to some people and only some of the time, but when you need the feature, you will be very grateful it is there! All in all, the great thing is that it's an "all in one" solution for all scanners, and is continuously being developed both in terms of adding new scanner models to the range and in terms of image processing features (for example, a recent feature is "hole punch removal" which does exactly what you imagine). On the downside, it's a big program, the interface is a little old fashioned, so there's a significant learning curve (particularly if you use it to scan colour negatives or slides). Therefore, it's probably not the software for the ocassional user, but if you scan regularly, and certainly if you scan a lot, this is the bees knees!

GBGreat program Great program. I have been using the program for many years. I have scanned in a majority of our family photos, both negatives and prints, dating back to the early 1900s. The program is easy to use, does a great job, a variety of scanning options and outstanding customer support. It is the ONLY scanning program I would use!
