PLSimple and smooth user experience I recently had to use ChargeAutomation for my business booking in Italy. It was very easy and smooth. I checked in, paid a security deposit, booked early check-in and received my access instructions - all via the same link. Very cool tool. Totally recommended

GBUseless and stressful to use I had a very bad experience when booking an apartment through booking.com The host used Chargeautomation.com to take a £200 security fee from me. The link did not work. I couldn't make the payment. I then got loads of messages saying I would not have access to the apartment if I didn't pay this extra fee. I had paid for the apartment in full in advance. I tried 2 devices. The problem was not with me. This company want your a scan of your passport, a scan of your credit card and a selfie. I don't trust them given the number of scam reports I have seen. Beware

DEgreat self check in method booked an apartment through airbnb in Vienna and the host was using this platform to complete the pre check-in. I was asked to pay a security deposit of €250 and to provide a document for each guests, after that we received a detailed guide for the apartment (access infos with photos, wifi Id and password, how the tv works etc). 3 days after the check out the security deposit was released.

GBGreat tool for hosts We use ChargeAutomation to collect security deposits, rental agreements, and some payments from guests when they book on various platforms. It's very nice to have a unified and automated system to handle this and allow guests to self service. After they complete their info they have access to our guidebook and keycode as well. In addition I would like to mention that ChargeAutomation support is pretty great. While the software is still maturing, the support team is quick to address issues and get fixes in from their dev team.

FRNot recommended for guests Unfortunately, I would not recommend guests to use the services offered by Chargeautomation. Since the data exchanged between the host and the guests are own by the hosts only and not Chargeautomation, it is very easy for a host to remove all the information incriminating them in case of conflict with the guests, without Chargeautomation being able to help. This puts the guests at a huge disadvantage, without any recourse to prove the host's wrongdoing. That being said, I very much appreciated the disponibility and implication of the team when I raised the issue to them, following a bad experience with a host. But as of now, I don't believe Chargeautomation offers enough guarantees to guests to not being treated unfairly by hosts.
