Decent Service FreedomPop seems to provide adequate to good phone and data service at a reasonable price, but I wish calls were direct cell calls, not routed over the Internet. Messaging is also slower to start than with other carriers.

Not a scam, But Make sure you read the fine print TWICE! Another service with poor disclosures and even worse customer support. If you make sure to read every single letter on every singe page, you'll have a general idea of what you're getting. But some information is only explained in more detail after you sign up, as it can be exhausting to have to scour every page for info. The one time I clicked a checkbox for a option without reading the "More info" url, I was instantly charged for adding a service! No mention of the pricing on the whole page, no pop-up conformation prompt, just an instant charge to my paypal account, so I turned it off within seconds, and contacted support and they refused to fund it, as I had already "used the service" even if I gained no benefits from it in the seconds it was active. In short, I've used tons of paid services, and almost always read every 'learn more' link I'm presented with. But this is the first one that I feel I had to walk on egg shells by just using.

They 'upgraded' people from free to paid plan with an email notice (which will probably end up in your spam folder) so you will get charged without your permission. I see a class action lawsuit brewing. Their service, when we used it, didn't work well. Poor connectivity, bad user experience, notifications weren't sent, etc.

4G working as advertised. So far has been smooth. There was 1 time when my account all in sudden does not work and I was at the airport urgently needed data connection. I could only write to customer service and got the issue resolved the next day. It's not a reliable service but for my usage it's good enough. If i use my mobile more frequently, I will switch to t-mobile or AT&T.
