I find Resy and OpenTable are far… I find Resy and OpenTable are far better user experiences for diners. Tock charges asinine fees to diners and makes splitting a bill need a spreadsheet. I'd rate Tock 0/5 stars.

Terrible, DO NOT give as a gift unless you hate the person. Terrible, misleading and useless. I received a Tock gift card as a gift and it has been nothing but a headache. First, we used Tock to make a reservation at a Tock restaurant only to find out that you can't actually use the gift card at the restaurant. Makes sense, right? Tock is intentionally misleading about when you can use the gift card. I had to read their terms and conditions to finally figure it out. So, can't use it at the restaurant... figured I'd order. I'm in Los Angeles so they have to have tons of restaurants that will deliver, right? Nope. 3 in my area. Ok, well, let's pick one of those 3. It's 1.2 miles away from me. After selecting the restaurant, turns out I'm "outside the delivery area". What? A mile is outside the delivery area? Screw it, let's keep trying. Change up the restaurant, confirm they'll deliver to me, place the order and about 20 minutes before it's supposed to arrive, Tock cancels the order because "we are unable to process the order with the restaurant." This is AFTER confirming my order will be delivered. Holy crap Tock. I don't wish your awfulness on anyone.

What value does Tock provide diners? I made a reservation for two at Daisies, a relatively new Chicago restaurant. We had a lovely time, but I will not go back if every time I make a Tock reservation I am charged $21 for two for nothing. As a frequent restaurant diner (3-4 times a week) I prefer Open Table and Resy. My partner prefers to call directly to restaurants. Now, I understand why.

Elaborate Scam We tried three times to use tock. Each time they charged us money in advance only for the restaurants to have never heard of tock before, and leading to a huge billing issue each time. Until now, we haven't been able to use our money on tock, and there's no way to remove it. And all support does is give default answers. Fairly convinced their business model is to make the product almost impossible to use so that they people just never use the money they actually have. If you like someone, NEVER gift them a tock gift card - it's the worst thing you can do to someone
