Horrible! 5 days of service is ALL we got before running out of data! I paid for a month's service!!!! I specifically told the first moron (when I signed up) what exactly we use internet for (school, streaming tv & music)!!! What on God's green earth made the idiot think 5 days worth of data was enough, is beyond me!!! THEEEEN when I called to ask about it, they wanted me to either upgrade or add data!!! $130 later, here I am on the phone AGAIN trying to rectify the issue! I was refused even a partial refund, because "I've received the router & the internet did work" (for 5 whole days)! Their customer service (or lack thereof) is HORRIBLE & so is their internet service! It's one BIG SCAM! Do yourself a favor & run! Run away, as fast as you can!!!!

Beware of Earthlink's Unfair Practices and Poor Customer Service with Earthlink… Our recent experience with Earthlink has left us thoroughly disillusioned and frustrated. After relocating to a new area where Earthlink does not offer service, we had no choice but to cancel our subscription. However, what followed was a harrowing ordeal marked by Earthlink's unreasonable policies and lack of concern for customer satisfaction. Despite our earnest explanation to Earthlink representatives that our cancellation was solely due to their inability to serve our new location, they callously insisted on imposing an early cancellation fee. We pleaded with the managers we spoke with, hoping for some understanding and leniency given our circumstances. However, our appeals fell on deaf ears as they remained unwilling or unable to waive the fee. We were promised that the executive team would reach out to discuss the matter further. While they did attempt to contact us, we were unfortunately out of town at the time and missed their call. Since then, we have diligently pursued a resolution by reaching out to Earthlink on numerous occasions, only to be met with silence and indifference. Nearly two months have passed since our initial attempt to address this issue, yet we are no closer to a resolution. The utter disregard for customer concerns and the lack of responsiveness from Earthlink are simply unacceptable. In conclusion, our experience with Earthlink has been nothing short of a nightmare. We feel unjustly penalized for circumstances beyond our control, while Earthlink demonstrates a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. We caution prospective customers to think twice before choosing Earthlink for their internet needs, as our experience serves as a stark warning of their unfair practices and abysmal customer service.

If I could give this company zero stars… If I could give this company zero stars I would. I recently moved to a new city and decided to give Earthlink a try. I immediately regretted by decision. I work from home and rely on the internet. On average, I get under 1 download speed and less than 1 upload speed. I have called their support team 3 times this week and spent hours on the phone with no solution. They nickel and dime you, support is horrible - they promise to escalate and nothing happens - they promise to call you back and nothing happens. I have to rely on the hotspot on my phone to do what I pay this service to do. And when I asked for a credit or refund because I can't use this service - they offered me $15... come on what a joke.

Service itself is poor Service itself is poor. We've been with this company for less than a year, and had technicians attempt to fix connection issues several times, until we had enough and switched to a more reliable company. Although they reluctantly provided a small refund for a portion of the time we were without service, they continued to bill us because of the contract terms, even though we HAD NO SERVICE. Would not recommend this provider.

I wish I would have read the reviews… I wish I would have read the reviews before I signed up!!! I ordered the modem and paid an insane $80 or $90. I got the modem and have been sitting on it because Comcast hadn't shut me off yet and I only had $100 in my account til the 3rd of next month. I didn't want to pay for two connections at the same time. Well I just woke up to find out last Friday they activated me and took $55 of the $100 I had left in the bank -without my approval-. They automatically signed me up for the $55 plan. I'm SO tired of getting taken advantage of these low life companies! What they don't know until now is that I'm going to call my bank, dispute not only the $55 charge but the $80 or $90 too. If they give me an address to send it back to I will otherwise I'm just going to throw away unopened box and all and they can eat the loss of the modem, shipping, and a brand new customer. For those of you who don't know. There is a way to get around their data caps they really don't want you to know about. In order for them to limit your bandwidth they need to see your IP. They can't do that with a good VPN. If they're throttling you go get a VPN and they won't be able to do anymore. That -was my plan. Now, I'm just going to ask my bank to give me back the money (and they will) and Earthlink will lose out purely because of greed. I should really learn to read reviews for anything before I sign up. Seeing their 1.4/5 average score I would have not signed up and went with someone else. Update: I spoke to my bank. They have filed the dispute for the $79.xx and are giving me back the money Earthlink charged me for the modem and after the $55 posts we're going to dispute that as well. Will update PRN. It's sad that their own greed is losing them money and customers. Update #2 3/21/2024: Per Sam's orders I did call. I did request the service be shut off and label returned to me. Neither were achieved. Now I have to go talk to my bank about both disputing that $55 that now it posted AND canceling this debit card and get a new one. That means I have to actually go into the bank and talk to a banker. Then, I have to change it will all my montyly billers. Blah blah blah FAR more inconvenient than it needs to be! I have this history, the bank history, and the call recorded. IF this shows up on my credit report I will easily have it removed! Looks like you lost a modem because of your own greed, Earthlink. If you were a decent company you wouldn't have lost a modem and would be making money instead of losing it. Maybe all of us reviewers (and supporters) of you could start a social media campaign to showcase how bad of a company you are? I know I'll be posting a link to this review. I wonder if anyone else will. #earthlinksucks ;)
