Easy to boot and no bloatware. I used a competitor and it started out fine but then they added more and more crap, constant updates and their two-factor authentication was a nightmare. A new neighbor suggested HMA so I tried it. Easy to use. I get to specify where in the U.S. I am connecting through and the connection process is easy. The connection for streaming is a little slow at times, particularly evenings. I'll have to wait until football season before you get the fifth star.

Possibly the worst VPN I've ever tried for downloads Possibly the worst VPN I've ever tried. Constant disconnects. I'm not exaggerating when I say I get 10-15+ disconnects in a 30 minute span. Constantly trying different servers and the same thing happens. I have never had this kind of problem with a VPN service. P2P servers are fast, but will disconnect constantly. This VPN is virtually useless if you're downloading files. Great for browsing though, which is why there's 2 stars. If I could rate the download capabilities of this server, HMA would be giving me stars instead.

Useless with Linux Useless with Linux. Have never been able to connect (all connection instructions point you to *.ovpn files on pages that 404 out), yet the company keeps charging me monthly. Customer service is unresponsive or unhelpful. I don't need my hand held, but I can't connect when I'm pointed to config files don't exist!

I requested the 7 day HMA trial and after 5 days tried to cancel the whole thing before anything was charged. Since there was no option to cancel a subscription in my account (no button there) and no PayPal/Google Play subscription, I have written emails to the support, which have not been answered until today. Money was of course debited and the tariff is opaque. There is no tariff offered that fits the price I paid. Everything seems very dubious, I can not recommend.

Dropped connections, lying about locations, slow speed Dropped connections. Often abysmal speeds. They lie about the location where you will appear after connecting to a remote location in another country. It seems you select New York, NY for example and when you check the IP address with "What's My IP Address?" it will show London, UK, or Miami, FL? WTH?!!?!
