About HMA VPN

The Web used to be a wild frontier that transcended geographical and political boundaries, and gave people anonymity and freedom. Anyone could go online to share ideas and access anything from anywhere. Now, the Web has become dangerously fragmented along country lines. Everything people do online is tracked, packaged, and sold, or used to control what they can see and do — with consequences that are becoming all too clear every day. HMA brings back online privacy so people can once again experience freedom on the Web. We’ve been around for a long time: We were one of the founders of this whole consumer VPN game. We make sure people can access what they want, from wherever they are, and stay private doing so.

Support is nonexistent. Support is nonexistent. I have the app set to "killswitch" if there is anything wrong with the app, but it just crashes anyway without turning off my connection to the internet as it promises. No way of telling when my security was breached or how. My antivirus now detects trojans when I tried to reinstall. Unsafe website, poor service, faulty product. Edit: support replied here and asked me to contact them. A week later still not replying. Scammers.

Has been a customer for years but no iPlayer Has been a customer for years but the bad performance and lack of support over the last months has sent me to a competitor. The VPN does not support BBC iPlayer use from outside UK. I have two support cases about this but no reply from the company

Don't waste your money! The company claims that it can offer IP location services that may not work properly, especially in certain locations in the Middle East. So, if this is what you're looking for, be cautious and consider whether it's worth your investment.

This has to be the most absurd business… This has to be the most absurd business I've interacted with. I recently noticed I had been paying them for two subscriptions since 2018. I haven't been able to access the product for two years, and on my account, it says I have no subscription (while they have been charging my card for years). I contacted their support, and it took them 1 month to get back to me. they didn't even respond to the inquiry; they just said, "If you are still facing issues, please let us know." Like what? I then explain the issue again and get a reply 2 weeks later. They responded by saying that they don't handle billing because it's all managed by their payment provider 2 checkout, so I should call them. I then talked to 2checkout, and they told me that I had indeed been paying for this service since 2018 every year and that I should contact them if I can't access the product. What of kind of ridiculous scam is this?

Possibly the worst VPN I've ever tried for downloads Possibly the worst VPN I've ever tried. Constant disconnects. I'm not exaggerating when I say I get 10-15+ disconnects in a 30 minute span. Constantly trying different servers and the same thing happens. I have never had this kind of problem with a VPN service. P2P servers are fast, but will disconnect constantly. This VPN is virtually useless if you're downloading files. Great for browsing though, which is why there's 2 stars. If I could rate the download capabilities of this server, HMA would be giving me stars instead.
