Their attempt to become an upscale store is paying off for the customer because they are now offering a wide array of different foods and fresh cuts of meat, and it doesn't hurt that you can still save dollars at the gas pump. They are still more pricer than their competition but, the savings at the pump is a plus.

Untruthful ads In Giant Eagle (I prefer to call it Giant Vulture), you get these ads saying, for example 'Buy 4 for $5 - before was $1.79 each'. What they do NOT tell you is that now, if you buy one, it's down to $1.25! So they make you think you must buy 4, but no, only one is enough. So they trick you into thinking you must buy a lot to get a discount, but that's not true
