Awful customer service Their customer service is horrible. Instead of being helpful, they would immediately send automated messages instead of handling the problem directly. Once I managed to get someone to see my message, they replied passively and aggressively towards my claim and made no effort in resolving the issue I had with the item. I just wasted my time.

10% restocking fee for order cancellation A couple of days after I placed an order through 1999.co.jp, the customer service reached out and told me they cannot ship to an APO (military) address via DHL. I was told there will be a 10% restocking fee if I cancel the order and the customer rep told me I should know their shipping policy. They put the blame on me for not knowing their company policy. Meanwhile, their website accepted the order with no warnings. The website has no mechanism put in place to prevent the order from going through.

Bad experience with Hobby Search co. Ltd. I ordered a model from Hobbysearch japan for €107,00 and had to pay €541,00. Hobbysearch sends the invoice if the package is already at the door: no more cancellation possible. Money was transferred by PayPal immediately. No protection against rogue companies as PayPal claims! We do not recommend that you ever buy anything from Hobbysearch. PayPal warranty is worth nothing.

Fast Service to the UK This is my first order with 1999.jp and I have no complaints. The website is excellent with plenty of choice for my needs. Ordering was simple, paid by PayPal and had regular updates until my item arrived on my doorstep, the day after landing in the UK. Took less than two weeks using Japan Post and I had no customs to pay. My item was well boxed and is exactly what I wanted.
