Worse than craigslist Expect 40+ spam bot notifications a day. If you report them, Tumblr management laughs in your face and does nothing to ban them. So you have 90% of the activity on the site literal spam bots and 10% snarky content farmers. It's not really much of an interactive community at all. Then there's the whole secondary blog thing with zero ability to comment as your secondary blog or follow others as your secondary blog. What's the point. The platform is rubbish. The management is rubbish. I wouldn't be shocked if all Tumblr was at this point in time is a laundering racket like Craigslist clearly is. This website and their trash phone app are a complete scam.

Proper organization of your local dashboard will guarantee you're keeping posted in all spheres of life you're interested in: music, films, books, science, fashion, art, etc. You can also express yourself by posting things you like and gaining followers with same interests as you are, which can become the true friends for all life long

They were taken over by Yahoo who promised not to "screw it up", then changed their terms relating to adult content - purging many NSFW blogs, rather than tackling the same problems that face all social media platforms. Since then there's been an exodus of people who have abandoned the website.

Tumblr is filled with revolting content which always gets through no matter how you try and filter your timeline. Sexually explicit material with a heavy nod towards the obscene is okay, yet a blog about nature is deemed unsuitable. Contacting Tumblr support achieves nothing. Many people I know have also suffered terminated accounts in which they have put a lot of personal effort into yet the low-effort filth remains.

Too much Censorship Too much Censorship. And not even well executed censorship at that. Nazis and pornbots are everywhere. Artists' artwork and sometimes entire blog are being flagged and removed from view. Even entirely SFW blogs are being shadowbanned. A good alternative to Tumblr can't happen soon enough.
