Probably the best online backup solution Probably the best online backup solution I have ever tried. And I have tried quite a few. CrashPlan is extremely cheap compared to the amount of backup storage (unlimited), meaning storing many versions of files for no extra charge. Furthermore, there is no retrieval waiting time (like Amazon Glacier). Anyone complaining about the data transfer speed just doesn't know that it helps a lot to disable backup compression. My transfer speed is excellent.

horrific customer service They dumped all of us personal users and now only do businesses. They've made it IMPOSSIBLE to ever reach a person. Horrible customer service. Make everything WAY too complex to do anything on the account anymore. When you have a problem you have to submit a "ticket" which no one ever answers. Goodbye!!!!!

Support is completely absent Support is completely absent. Backups are not even starting. They are hiding basic information, you can not backup any important system folder or file like sql database and they are not telling it anywhere on their website. Yet they call it business backup. Subscription cancellation way is terribly hidden, you wont reach their easily and it wont work unless u repeat it two three times. Its a trick to charge you over and over with no refund policy.

Crashplan started as a great service, 12 years ago Crashplan started as a great service, and then adopted a policy of: 1. deleting users' data with little or no notice 2. making it very difficult to restore data 3. increasing prices from $3/month to $40/month 4. changing their policies after their customers had invested thousands of $$ and years of backups This is honestly behavior that should get them sued by the FTC. It's the kind of thing a criminal organization would do.

Beware Of Crashplan Crashplan has chat support but never anyone monitoring it. The email support is slow and not very easy to use and if you can't log in you cannot even raise a ticket. At the moment I am getting warning emails that I have not backed up when I try to restart a backup it says " Service Currently Unavailable". They Have introduced an Authenticator System which gives you three codes but none work. It used to be a good service but has steadily gone downhill I would like to change but to backup 2+ terabytes would take days. Also when you try to log in sometimes it routes to something called Zendesk. If things change I will let you know but I am not counting on it
