About Jende Industries

Jende Industries is currently an international company with facilities in the US, Australia, Malaysia, and Taiwan. Ironically, we had no intentions of becoming a sharpening-based company. But as fate would have it, in 1999 we started sharpening (poorly) and fell into the rabbit hole - deeply. Fast forward after several years of trial and a whole lot of error, and Jende Industries was started in 2004 with a single product - the Jende Reed Knife. The name and the knife quickly became associated with sharpness and quality in the world of oboe, bassoon, and clarinet. From there we branched out into different realms of sharpeningdom, including kitchen knives, woodworking, scissors, and straight razors; and despite getting kicked off all the hip forums and discussion lists of the day, started becoming known as a respectable source of sharpening knowledge and equipment.

I was shopping for a good reed knife… I was shopping for a good reed knife and came accross Jende. Chris Tayler was out of town, in Taiwan actually, but still took the time to discuss the appropriate knife and give me an overview of the company. Chris represented the company with such professionalism that I’ll never go anywhere else and I’ll never forget the level of care I received from him. Also, I’ve had the knife for quite some time now and I absolutely love it. I still haven’t had to sharpen it!

Excellent customer service I had the misfortune of placing an order during a server upgrade of some sort, so I didn't receive any automated communications regarding the order. However, upon reaching out to Jende they responded very quickly and provided the tracking number for my package. It arrived in a timely manner, and I am very pleased with the products. Will definitely be ordering again!

Stay away from JENDE Stay away from JENDE! Their customer service is terrible. I have contacted JENDE regarding faulty (major) part of the system and even though they have admitted the part was faulty in their first generation of systems and promised to replace the faulty part, they never did that. I chased JENDE company for more than a year now, send dozens of e-mails, messages through social platforms but it never worked. JENDE promised to send the faulty part three times but they never kept their word. JENDE is one of the worst company that I have dealt with.

Jende earned a lifelong customer today The Jende guys really know their stuff when it comes to sharpening and their products. I think I wasted about 2 hours of their time asking all kinds of questions, and they even sent me microscopic pictures to show how each product changed the edge. Freaking mind-blowing, let me tell you. Even though they are much more experienced at sharpening than I will ever be, I felt I still got treated as an equal. Every recommendation was meant to get me what I needed rather than what they wanted to force me to buy. They earned a lifelong customer today.
