Excellent Customer Service - Shoutout to Margot Margot helped me untangle a billing complication about my membership, which was coming between me and Public Goods ramen, which are the best anywhere. She was super prompt and understanding. Most important was the flexibility. I very much appreciate that no one recited policy to me (a tack that is always alienating). I felt like there are real humans running the show. Off to order some Spicy Ramen. Grateful for your help Margot!

Purchased some items in 2021 and I've… Purchased some items in 2021 and I've been charged yearly for a membership despite never engaging with the website or service since. I guess I'm a sucker.

Good Deodorant I ordered a number of items, including the deodorant in the paper tube, some kitchenware, some cereal and snacks, and dish soap. Everything is good quality. I found Public Goods because I was looking for a plastic-free deodorant option, and this didn't disappoint - it works well for me and smells nice (mild citrus). The only downsides I see are the plastic bag used to carry the deodorant (I get that it comes in a paper tube - maybe a PLA-coated wrapper would solve this problem) and the shipping costs for small orders. The prices are not bad for these types of products, but you have to order quite a bit (especially for one person) to get free shipping.

Persistently deceptive scammer Just an awful, unscrupulous firm that attempts to hide its plan to charge for costly "membership" whenever you buy anything from them -- anything at all, including small, low-cost items. Their photos also make the plastic bottles they sell things in look much, much larger than they are. This company obviously stays afloat by persistently deceiving consumers. You should stay away!

Public Goods Deletes Negative Reviews From Their Website I have two lifetime memberships for donating to their Kickstarter program when they were getting started. They've been raising their prices pretty significantly over time and it's not even worth it buying their overpriced products anymore. They also deleted any negative reviews I posted, particularly about their cotton tote bag that fell apart after a few uses.
