USTotally unprofessional experience My cabinetry business bought a custom Mahogany ladder for a bookcase that we are building / installing. The ladder components were totally unmatching in tone and character. Our ladder itself is made entirely from sapwood! Unreal. No accountability from VanDyke's. To boot, they did not include the hardware that we paid for! The customer service in trying to get our hardware parts has been a real horror show. We need our hardware and can't get any answers. Emails where they literally ignore our questions. Their business model is that they make you go crazy until you just go away and repurchase the same goods somewhere else. I'm not going away!

USAbout the same as what I'm reading on… About the same as what I'm reading on here regarding Van Dykes, I gave them a card number and yet they can't figure out how to use the number I gave them? Then they took my order for a few items and that order has maybe gone into a Black Hole, spinning out away into the remote corners of the Universe? Whoever wrote that they have nothing on hand is correct, they haven't anything on hand, as far as we know they're buying our ordered items from a street vendor in Pakistan.

USAntique Chest Parts I was restoring an antique chest that has been in the family for a couple of generations at least. I ordered some hinges and latches that I thought would work but when I received them I just didn't like the way they matched my chest. I ordered a second set and sadly they weren't any better of match, my issue not theirs. Both orders shipped promptly and were exactly as I expected. They just didn't work with my situation. I contacted customer service about a return and they responded within hours with a full refund and offered to send a return shipping label. I was very impressed with their no nonsense return acceptance. I would definitely use them again for any future purchases.

USGreedy people; poor customer service Edit/Update: Van Dyke's eventually sent me some replacement hardware at no cost. So, they came through in the end. Original: Ordered a $3300 library ladder with a hardware kit that had to be ordered separately, using a Van Dyke's ordering system that deliberately shorts you on hardware kit parts (you know, because $3300 isn't enough -- Van Dyke's wants more). Took 5 attempts to get through to CSR (they ignore emails) -- was told: "too bad, take a hike". Great. Much enjoyment working with a company that thinks $3300 for a library ladder isn't enough. And thinks their customers are just in the way.

USI am editing my review because I did… I am editing my review because I did receive a call from Van Dyke's and they were very apologetic and wanted to straighten out the mess that was made with order. They did refund my money and also gave me a credit for $50.00. While the buying experience was not the greatest for me and it was my first time buying from them, I must say that they did what companies should do that have a customer service model that includes trying to retain unhappy customers. I am willing to give them another chance.
