Machine was absolutely filthy Machine was absolutely filthy. The machine upon collection was in an absolute state, I spent about 40 minutes pulling hair and fibres out of the filter, hose, and off the bottom of the machine. The hand tool is pretty useless IMO too. I am positive that if you used a brand new machine, or one that had been cleaned properly, then it would be fine because the machine cleans lovely. Just this one experience, my first experience, has been pretty gross. I could have called their customer service, but honestly RugDoctor. 100% of your machines should be clean WITHOUT the need to leave a garbage review or have to call. I just don't have the time to be faffing around finding another machine.

Think it’ll be better to hire a cleaner! Was really excited to rent one of these. The actual cleanliness of mine wasn’t too bad compared to what others have said. I only went over the same area once as directed with the main machine but I kept noticing the place where the suds and water is meant to go, just was empty after only doing 2-3 runs on the carpet so I kept filling up. Then I used the hand held attachment which seemed to work better but when I was going over the carpet, I noticed it was still picking up so much black. So why does it say only go over once if it’s clearly not cleaning it properly. Carpets are seriously soaked and I’m abit worried about how they’re gonna dry

Hire machine heavy, hard to manoeuvre and unsuited to domestic uses Carpets cleaned ok but poor suction on the main machine meant I needed to use the hand tool to vacuum up moisture over the whole carpet. The main machine is also very heavy, unwieldy and impossible to manoeuvre in small rooms. The professional hire machine is poorly suited to domestic situations.

Don't waste your time or money renting from a locker. I had one machine which had been… I had one machine which had been reported faulty and was still full of water when i collected it which made it really heavy and also ruined my jumper. The second one leaked and soaked my carpets. They refunded me but I will be spending the money on a new jumper. Don't bother renting from a locker as the products are cleary not maintained.

Horrendous smell after using Rug Doctor We hired a Rug Doctor for the weekend, to clean all the carpets in our house. It was the worse experience. Using the cleaner itself it pretty straight forward and we followed the instructions to letter. However, the next day and over the coming days the smell from the carpets was awful. It smelt like dirty drains. My whole house stinks. I have had to borrow a Vax machine and go over all the carpets, in all the rooms, time and time again to try to remove the smell. It is slowly clearing, but it has been a whole week now and we are cleaning the carpets again daily. I spoke with a friend of mine and she said she had exactly the same problem, the smell of the carpets afterwards is horrendous. I would steer well clear and I definitely won't be using them again
