Poor communication with installers. Unable to install system in one visit. Installment of system became too complicated. Northstar outsources to companies that are not kept informed. Installment should be done in one visit. We kept getting the "run around". Very frustrated so we cancelled our account. Will chose a more reputable company.

"I MADE THE WORST DECISION IN MY LIFE"… "I MADE THE WORST DECISION IN MY LIFE" getting this security system installed at my residence on November 18th, 2017. Today is April 16th, 2018 and I'm still experiencing issues. I CAN'T GET HOLD OF technical support, customer service , not even the regional manager of this area ! My alarm system has been working on and off until yesterday in which both security panels are frozen. MY HOME IS NOT PROTECTED NEITHER AM I !

Auto-renew contracts without notice … Auto-renew contracts without notice should be illegal. Got stuck into an extra 18-month contract paying double the amount we would be paying with a competitor. So after 5 years, now stuck for another year and a half. Won't forget to send that written notice (that we weren't even aware of) this time.

So… perhaps an update is needed So… perhaps an update is needed. Northstar is still harassing us!! They originally said it would cost over1,000.00 to void our contract. Then 800.00, then 400.00. We talked to customer service and they agreed to 110.00. Now, they say we will have to go to court to settle.,Their story changes with each representative.,We originally would have fulfilled our contract. Then it broke down filling the house with alarm beeping non stop. After 10 calls to Northstar, we finally dismantled it ourselves, and went with a different company for safety reasons. We are a medically fragile household. One representative is ruder and dumber than next. So, court it is. Proceeds will go to St Jude’s Hospital.

Too bad I can’t select zero stars Too bad I can’t select zero stars! Deceptive business practices. They always find a reason to not cancel your contract which auto renews for 18 months! My first BBB complaint is because of this miserable company. Save yourself! Run don’t walk from this company.
