GBYeah, but meh! The Rug Doctor gets out surface dirt and stains in the short term, but it's bulky and cumbersome to use with mediocre lasting results. Cleaning my wall-to-wall carpets took serious muscle to maneuver the machine everywhere, even after reading the instructions. And while the rug looked cleaner at first, the musty smell returned within days. Renting and hauling from the store was also a hassle. So for a quick fix in between professional deep cleanings, I’d maybe use Rug Doctor again. But for a truly clean and lasting result, I still prefer to call the experts.

GBCleaning power Even the cheapest rug doctor cleaning liquid demonstrated an insane ability to pull filth from a carpet I didn't know was particularly dirty. I wanted to clean up a spot of vomit and ended up picking up about a boulder worth of dust and sand-like particles. Also, the vomit spot disappeared entirely, despite sitting there for several days.

GBDilapidated machines, ghastly customer service This company rents out dilapidated pieces of trash. Their customer service is just as poor. The first machine had very poor suction and left the carpet very wet, even though the instructions were followed. Dampness should be expected but the carpet was wet and took days to dry with fans running. The carpet did not seem clean either. I decided to try vacuuming the carpet throughly again and then I rented another machine thinking it was due to malfunction. I got the second machine home and the brush would not turn on, and the light illuminated saying it was jammed. There was nothing stuck and it was easy to turn by hand. I contacted customer service and they stated based on the information the machine was broken and I would have to return to the store to exchange it. When I got to the store I called the kiosk number as instructed. They said I could return the machine for a full refund or exchange it for a new machine. Because this had taken over two hours of my time and an extra trip across town, I asked for a partial refund and to exchange the machine. Rug Doctor declined and refused to give back any money if I exchanged the machine. I simply returned the machine and they refunded me the rental cost, but not my wasted evening. It is understandable that machines malfunction, but I cannot do business with a company that is not interested in making it right. I will rent a Bissell instead. Rug Doctor uses contactless kiosks and their dilapidated machines are not checked or maintained between uses. This is in contrast with Bissell, where you talk to an actual person when renting the cleaner.

GBI resurrected my old but like new carpet cleaner machine I resurrected from my heated home garage my older Rug Doctor Deep Cleaning Carpet Cleaner, serial # A 187167, stored for the last few years .This easy to use machine delivering a very good results with only 10 hours of home usage was dumping clean water on the floor. Finally After speaking to Patrick Cole Field Support Representative I was attributed a case # 1236584 I was supposed to received some part (S) which I never did> The machine went back on the shelving. In the mean time I bought another brand, but it upset me to have this like new machine not working. Thanks for your help on this lingering saga.
