Band of Theives Absolutely one of the many bandit in moving. Hold you hostage and demand thousands more. Heirlooms damage, no payment with in house insurance. If you are smart, steer clear.

AVOID THIS COMPANY I wish I could give this company zero stars. Worst moving experience of my life. After picking up my items that I was told were going to be delivered on September 4th, I didn't end up getting my items until Sept 12th with absolutely no communication. I packed my life saving medication and all my clothing to start a new job and was left high and dry for weeks. The worst of it was when they were unloading, first they showed up 8 hours late and refused to unload my items unless I paid them $150 more dollars. No one could explain why, I was straight up shaken down for money. They were also supposed to assemble my furniture, but brought no tools with them. They told me it was fine, but they second the left at 11pm at night, I sat on my bed AND IT COMPLETELY FELL APART. The legs snapped and my expensive bed frame was destroyed. They also did the same thing to both my nightstands. All my boxes were crumpled and beaten, it looked like they had moved them multiple times since picking them up. There was nothing I could do except file a moving claim and it's been months without seeing any result of that. The moving claims company looked like a scam as well, tons of ad pop-ups and entering in the same information over and over. Do anything in your power to avoid this company at all costs.

Bad business, decent people Imagine hiring a babysitter through an agency for $20 / hour for your 9 month old baby. Once you’re out having fun (and have already paid a deposit), the babysitter calls to inform you that the baby has soiled himself, and it’ll be $5 to change the diaper (even though you have diapers) and $10 if there’s poop inside it. Furthermore, once it’s time to eat, they’ll charge separately for heating the meal you’ve already prepared, feeding the baby, and burping him. When you call the support line for the agency and argue that you’re paying them $20 / hour and it should be included, a customer service representative informs you its company policy, and their hands are tied. Moreso, somewhere deep in your contract, you’ve already agreed to this fee structure. Unfortunately because it’s your baby and you love him, you’re forced to pay these exorbitant fees, lest he go hungry, remain dirty, or choke. It’s not the customer service rep’s fault - heck, it’s not even the babysitter’s fault. It’s the company that set these rules. This sums up my experience dealing with Safe Ship moving. They tell you one thing and promise you peace of mind, but in the fine print, you’re going to pay a lot more. I'd prefer they just raise their rates so there's no surprises. Trying to work with customer service and various managers has been akin to trying to get a deaf, one-legged dog to clap - it’s impossible, and I feel stupid for having tried. They can’t hear you, can’t understand you, and even if they could, they can’t help you. I would rather attempt to teach a quadruple amputee sign language than to work with this company again. 2 out of 5 stars because my stuff still got delivered.

Fraudulent Documents and Damaged Belongings Edit: In February of 2021, Safebound reached out to me claiming that they have made changes to their business policies and personnel. They offered additional compensation to prove their sincerity and resolve my complaint. I accepted their offer. Original post: Safebound prepared fraudulent documents and damaged our belongings during my family's move last July. In working through complaints with various consumer and government agencies, they have repeatedly accused me of lying (despite evidence to the contrary) and have offered only 8% of our moving costs in exchange for our silence. I believe the public deserves to hear about my experience and include it below. Safebound Logistics sent only one person to load our belongings (Mike P.), and we saw him damage a Paloma II dining table and Andover floor mirror, both from Crate & Barrel. While loading, he pointed out to us a single shelf that was scratched, but because he did that, we assumed that he would bring to our attention any cosmetic issues he noticed. Instead, he fraudulently and incorrectly marked that literally every piece of furniture was in a damaged condition at origin. To do so, Mike used numeric codes that weren’t immediately clear and then pressured us to sign the paperwork quickly because he was desperate to get on the road. We didn’t notice or understand the damage codes when we signed the paperwork, and he certainly didn’t point them out. After delivery, we figured out the meaning of the numeric codes and found that those codes don't even match the location of damages we claimed. For example, Mike marked all 8 dining chairs, an armchair, an end table, 2 beds, a 3rd dresser, and a 3rd nightstand as scratched and/or soiled, but all are still in perfect condition. This proves that his list of damages is fraudulent. Instead, many of our items were damaged during the move due to Safebound's negligence. They even lost an essential part of our sofa, rendering it unusable. We chose Safebound because their sales team promised that our items would remain on a single truck for the entire move, but then they then unloaded and reloaded the entire shipment. This likely contributed to the damages we incurred. While our items were in transit, I asked for a final cost so I could have a bank check ready at delivery. They emailed a final price, but then demanded another $228 in charges before they would unload our furniture. Given all of this, I believe that fraud and false claims are common practice for Safebound. We have reached out to the company directly, filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and endured a nearly year-long settlement process with the industry-biased, third-party, CSI Pros platform. At the end of the day, Safebound offered to buy our silence for less than 8% of what we paid. All the while, they have continued to defend their incompetent employees in spite of damaged goods and fraudulent documents. Worse yet, when they replied to the FDACS, they twisted my words and then accused me of lying despite clear evidence to the contrary. In closing, here is what we learned about Safebound Logistics. Get every detail in writing, though in our case, they didn’t even honor what they put in writing. Furthermore, watch the loading crew (or individual) like a hawk. They will mark that everything you own is damaged. Read every line of every page and ask that they explain (in writing) every stray mark written on the page, because if you don’t, they will later claim it means you agreed that every piece of furniture you own was damaged before they loaded it. Finally, if you choose to entrust your belongings to them, you should definitely take out insurance to protect from the mistakes they will certainly make. Apparently, protecting your items from damage is not included in the price they will quote—it’s like a car company charging an extra fee to make sure the new car you bought has no manufacturing defects. If a moving company is unable to move furniture without damaging it and/or unable to execute documents without committing fraud, they should not offer insurance; they should stop moving furniture and find another industry. Just stay away.
