Hidden costs Used curb for the first time this past weekend. Midtown to LGA. Booked the night before and chose it over Uber because it appeared to be about $25 cheaper. My $45 quoted fare quickly turned into $71 wiall the add-ons. Same price as Uber at the end. And beware that it defaults to a 20% tip unless you go into your account and change it. Found out too late.

Scan alert The only reason you’re getting a 1 is because I can’t select zero. This was the worst can experience ever. The driver had horrible driving. He overcharged us. He took a long back route to get extra money. I had my gps on and called him out on it and continued to do it. He was rude and disrespectful. This is the reason people don’t use or trust your taxis anymore. Such a shame that your company is scamming people out of money on Christmas. Do not use this company it’s an organized scam unit. They need to be shut down.

DISHONEST PEOPLE Long story short, my Fiance and I took a brief ride from Grand Central to Port Authority, not long after I realized that I did not have my phone on me. I was able to use the find my phone app and could see it was in the cab going around the city. I pinged my phone numerous times only for it to be manually turned off for 12 hours. I emailed the dispatcher with the information he needed and have NOT heard back and I also followed up before I posted this review. They have no intention in helping me recover my phone nor have the decency to respond back - avoid all yellow cabs at all costs. Just awful.

Drivers never showed up for two separate confirmed rides today. I booked two separate rides on CURB today and both were cancelled by CURB at the last minute and "rescheduled" several times and NO driver ever showed up for either resevation. We were going to and returning from an event. If CURB reservations cannot be relied upon, why bother to use CURB? Believe me, I wanted to use this service and not use UBER for lots of reasons, but it cannot be depended upon. The policy to let drivers cancel at the last minute must be changed.

Curb a better alternative to Uber or Lyft While Curb is new and will need to improve it's app, it's been a great alternative. I live in Chicago and have been disappointed with both Uber and Lyft. Since they've taken over the market there are much less cabs these days until I found Curb. So far so good, I've used it 4 times and like it much more than Uber or Lyft. It's also a bit cheaper even with a tip for a cab through Curb. Uber and Lyft drivers don't know how to navigate without an app, they often take a longer route or miss a turn or block traffic trying to get over several lanes at the last minute. They're not professional drivers, they do it part time for extra money. Uber and Lyft drivers can't change while enroute like with a cab. Their rates have only gone up since they began. The worst part for for me the app says a car is so many minutes away but takes twice as much time to get to you. The arrival time is quoted sooner than reality, you get there 5-10 minutes later. Bottom line for me: Perhaps Uber and Lyft work well for smaller cities and the suburbs but don't seem to do as well in big cities. I used to walk outside and hail a cab quickly. Now since the market has been changed we ALL have to wait for whatever ride we hail on an app. With Curb I can change my destination, get there in the quickest time, the drivers knows the streets the best at different times of the day, it's a better and cheaper alternative to Uber or Lyft.
