Curb a better alternative to Uber or Lyft While Curb is new and will need to improve it's app, it's been a great alternative. I live in Chicago and have been disappointed with both Uber and Lyft. Since they've taken over the market there are much less cabs these days until I found Curb. So far so good, I've used it 4 times and like it much more than Uber or Lyft. It's also a bit cheaper even with a tip for a cab through Curb. Uber and Lyft drivers don't know how to navigate without an app, they often take a longer route or miss a turn or block traffic trying to get over several lanes at the last minute. They're not professional drivers, they do it part time for extra money. Uber and Lyft drivers can't change while enroute like with a cab. Their rates have only gone up since they began. The worst part for for me the app says a car is so many minutes away but takes twice as much time to get to you. The arrival time is quoted sooner than reality, you get there 5-10 minutes later. Bottom line for me: Perhaps Uber and Lyft work well for smaller cities and the suburbs but don't seem to do as well in big cities. I used to walk outside and hail a cab quickly. Now since the market has been changed we ALL have to wait for whatever ride we hail on an app. With Curb I can change my destination, get there in the quickest time, the drivers knows the streets the best at different times of the day, it's a better and cheaper alternative to Uber or Lyft.

Hidden costs Used curb for the first time this past weekend. Midtown to LGA. Booked the night before and chose it over Uber because it appeared to be about $25 cheaper. My $45 quoted fare quickly turned into $71 wiall the add-ons. Same price as Uber at the end. And beware that it defaults to a 20% tip unless you go into your account and change it. Found out too late.

Terrible Like others I liked the idea of supporting drivers so tried the app, but I tried it twice and there were no cabs available either time. Plus, the second time the app took about 20 minutes to tell me that, by which time I had decided to walk. The worst part is that they charged my credit card and I am trying to get them to refund me, so far without any luck. Good concept, absolutely terrible execution.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. The a-hole driver who accepted my request sat at the (wrong) end of my block for a minute or two, wouldn't answer his phone when I called (twice), and then just suddenly cancelled the ride. A full twenty-five minutes later, a replacement driver arrived. I'm now massively late for a hospital appointment, will likely have to re-book, and have $50 of wasted fares on top. There's no way to complain about the a-hole who wrecked my day. Angry and disgusted. Horrible service, horrible system where drivers can just suddenly change their mind with no explanation. I'm boiling mad. Zero stars would be more appropriate.

1st time user- we were hit with a 30%… 1st time user- we were hit with a 30% up charge for van at MIA airport without notice for 2 person ride and tip would not allow custom amount - defaulting to 20%. Contacted Curb support without any luck for refund. Going back to Uber.
