GBH&R block is one of the worst companies… H&R block is one of the worst companies I have worked with. I had fraudulent activity on my account and disputed and they denied my claim.

GBWebsite and corporate management is awful. My tax preparer is great despite poor working conditions. My personal tax preparer for more than 20 years is fabulous. H&R Block Corp is incompetent. One of the worst websites I've ever dealt with. Called the local office I use for more than a decade. No answer though it was during business hours the greeting states. Invites me to leave a voice message and then there's no way to do it. It's 17 days til tax filing time. How is there no one there. My understanding is that receptionists in the Edgewater NJ office has been out during the week and no one is answering calls. After writing this called the 800 number for H&R Block corporate office. Chose "leave a message for my tax preparer." Transferred me to customer service told her and she kept insisting for me to make an appointment. Told her No, wanted to leave a message. The office wasn't answering or providing any way to leave a message. She laughed. Told her laughing about this is offensive. She hung up.

GBIncompetent PA had updates that caused online software to fail in filling a state return without a tax pro. Three weeks later the tax pro is missing and a simple problem that would take less than an hour has become an unforgivable nightmare. Basically this company is no longer competent and is holding taxes hostage so they can make money.

GBWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER From my amazon review - For HRB's 2023 Tax Software "Deluxe" (What a joke - as in BAD) Federal & State which I cut and pasted for the H&R "Customer Survey" they sent to me today by e-mail: Submitted my return at 4 PM EST 4/15/2024. Was rejected at 5:30 PM. No big deal....right. Called "Customer Support/Help" (in quotation marks for a reason, as in SARCASM) at 9 PM and got a recording, "No one is available to help you. CALL BACK IN TWO HOURS." Huh? - As in 11 PM EST. Called again at 10 PM and selected the "Call Me Back" option. Waited until 11:30 PM - 30 minutes before the IRS Cutoff - and waited for 30 minutes until "Yka" called me at 12 AM ON THE DOT - GREAT, NOW I AM LATE - and she condescendingly admonished me for, apparently, being an idiot (FYI - I am NOT technically illiterate) - Gee, were the thousands of other "customers" whose returns did not get filed due to a "glitch" (again, POORLY WRITTEN SOFTWARE) ALSO morons? I don't think so. I then gave "Yka" a piece of my mind whereupon she hung up on me. I finally got it accepted by the IRS at 1:33 AM EST. LATE. I have worked in call centers and can tell you that ANYONE who talked to a client like that and then hung up on them WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED ON THE SPOT AND THEN WALKED OUT OF THE BUILDING. I have seen it happen more than once. I did NOT use any profanity but I DID take offense to having to take "guff" - not the word I WANT to use - from someone who took TWO HOURS TO DELIVER AN INSULT AFTER THE DEADLINE HAD PASSED. I'll be GOING BACK TO TURBOTAX. AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK. BUYER BEWARE........YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

GBCharged for unecessary option I've been using HR Block since I started filing my own taxes. Tonight, when purchasing the software, I noticed that they automatically charge for an "extended download" feature that I did not select and that I do not lead. Just a warning to others that HR Block has adopted the sludge bull&$^% approach to making money. They are relying on the behavioral economics and human nature to trick people into paying for crap that they do not need. Naturally it is nonrefundable.
