Charged for unecessary option I've been using HR Block since I started filing my own taxes. Tonight, when purchasing the software, I noticed that they automatically charge for an "extended download" feature that I did not select and that I do not lead. Just a warning to others that HR Block has adopted the sludge bull&$^% approach to making money. They are relying on the behavioral economics and human nature to trick people into paying for crap that they do not need. Naturally it is nonrefundable.

I've never had such a bad experience I've never had such an unprofessional person handle my finances. It was almost comical how bad it was. His attitude was alright, he was generally friendly but I had to walk out. After an hour and fifteen minutes we hadn't even started my tax return. He kept inputting information wrong then having to start all over again and kept getting pulled to do other things because of how long it was taking. Simple things like my phone number and social that he had written down, he kept putting in wrong. He was entering my employers address as my own, mispelling common words, and his filing system was a collection of documents scattered on the floor of his work space (some of which he was running over with his computer chair.). I ended up having to walk out, very embarrassing. I've just never had someone that incompetent in charge of something that important and just expect me to be okay with it.

Last day of tax filing system and H&R… Last day of tax filing system and H&R Block announces it's filing system is down for maintenance. Didn't bother sharing that when they accepted my payment. How can your system be down on the last day to file return or request extension?

In addition, when you ask to speak with a manager, no one is available, which wasted an hour of my life. They don't honor the price of the pre-order if they don't send instructions or updates if you pre-order.
