GBThere is absolutely no way to speak to… ***update*** I have now canceled my accounts, which btw, you still have to go through chat. First, with a "regular" representative, then get chat transferred to a retention chat representative lol. Unbelievable.*** There is absolutely no way to speak to a person on the phone anymore. Everything from identity theft to disputes requires you to go on the app and use live chat, which they don't know much of anything. Varo didn't use to be like this. I've been with them for years. For now, I'll keep the account, but I have 3 other bank accounts, so it won't be used. Only because I don't feel like going through chat again after spending 45 minutes to get nowhere with my question. How useful is a bank when you can't reach anyone?

GBHorrible customer service Horrible customer service, can't speak to a live agent to resolve an issue with them suspended my account. Going on 2 weeks now. No one will help me with this issue. I have no money and can't pay any bills. This is ridiculous

GBWorst banking experience Ever!!!! No customer service you can only CHAT and they end chat when they are do e talking to you. Belive is a scam they hold your money for 30 days Plus 1 business day just for a hotel deposit. And when you try to resolve it they tell you there is nothing they can do you just have to wait. They have no answers and tell you there is nothing that they can do. There is no way to escalate a situation you just get hung up on and told "I understand your frustration" Please use ANY other banking institution and tell everyone you know as well. You are better off giving your money to a random person with a coffee can. They would be more helpful.

GBVaro is a good bank - for true online banking I have been with Varo now for over 6 years, I started with them while they were not an "official bank", but then transformed into one being backed by the FDIC, which I thought was great. They do not have the best communication practices in the industry, but I don't really need them that often, if I email them they will respond in 24-48 hours. With a good explaination, and usally will refer to their "rules" and such. I like the new feature send to anyone, I can now send Money to my husband, with out fees. I also enjoy the high interest rates on their savings account. If you are going to compare an online bank with a brick and morter bank, there really isn't a fair comparison, Varo doesn't have locations to walk into, or if they do it might only be in Utah or something like that. I do recommend them. I hate talking to people and going to the bank, so this is a really great option for me.
