Kikoff vs. Self Self is a lender that offers credit-builder loans as well as a secured credit card to help people establish credit. You have to pay an administrative fee for Self's credit-builder loan as well as a finance charge. Self offers loans starting at $600 and going up to $1,800. Unlike Kikoff, you don't have access to the full amount immediately. Instead, Self places the money in a certificate of deposit account and releases it to you when you finish making monthly payments for the loan term. You can use the loan to establish credit and build savings at the same time. You can pay your loan back early at both lenders or close your credit account at Kikoff if you have established a good credit score and are ready to apply for traditional loans or credit cards.

505 to 633 in less than 5 months I never write reviews but i need to give credit where credit is due!! After hourssss of researching the best way to raise my credit, I joined kikoff in may 2023, (my credit was awful, it was only 505) by june 2023 my credit score went up 90 points… its now November 3rd and my credit is 633 and still rising!! Everyone should join..its super easy and only $5 a month… i currently do two of the options kikoff has, so i only spend $15 a month! Heres my referral code if anyone wants to join and get extra perks: HRLXRUFB Also just joined cred.ai which is another reputable credit building app.. all u do is add money to your “unicorn card” they send you and spend like its a debit card and it reports to the bureaus that its a credit card and ur paying on time!! Cre.ai referral: RLHNRR

Use kikoff and self together to build your credit faster So I want to first explain, I used both kikoff and self credit builders and I had horrible credit, below 500. Both of these credit builders got me above a 600 to where capitol one, paypal, and discover have all given me unsecured credit cards. Kikoff and self have been life savers.

Slow to report good paying habits It has actually took my credit up a little, the reason I gave a 4 not a five, almost gave a 3, after 6 months of paying, I had to call or text don't remember to have kickoff to let the credit agencies of my continously paying them. Kickoff also didn't give my credit amount with them, which probably would have brought my credit more. I renewed my kickoff once, but probably won't again. If kickoff reported better, I probably would renew my prescription with them. Their credit reporting isn't good, although I feel if I missed my payment it would be reported sooner.
