GBUpon entering Altra FCU in clarksville… Upon entering Altra FCU in clarksville I was greeted by all the personnel. I opened an account for myself and 2 education accounts for my grandchildren. The ease and simplicity of doing so in the office made me feel confident about choosing Altra for local banking. Later that year I up graded one child's account and opened a savings and checking for my grandson who needed a bank in town. Altra has been most helpful and provide the tools I need to get my banking needs done. Thanks to the staff at Clarksville branch.

GBExcellent service, great benefits, kind staff Staff at Altra are personable and kind. Not only is there no fee for checking, but you get interest. I had a great experience getting my first mortgage and with refinancing when the interest rates had dropped. My debit card has been protected by fraud alert staff. It just feels both safe and homey to bank at Altra. Even though I moved to the Twin Cities over 8 years ago, I've continued to keep my money at Altra because of the positive experience I have had there.

GBSince I live in Texas and there are no… Since I live in Texas and there are no banks near us and yet the people in the bank manage to make it seem like I am in the lobby right therel I have had my accounts here for more than 20 years, with CD's and savings, etc.

GBFees at ATM Kwik Trip doesn't charge a fee to use its ATM, but Altra has to tack on a fee. That stinks. First of all, Altra's Onalaska location is terrible. Tricky to enter the lot and tricky to exit the lot because of traffic and the crazy way so many people drive. I asked for an ATM location at the Oak Forest location, but my request was ignored. So to circumvent Altra's lack of concern for me, I simply get $500 of 20s so I have a supply of change on hand. There are numerous financial institutions in the area and I'm shopping.

GBIt really bothers me that pay apps are nearly impossible to use with Altra. It really bothers me that there is a daily limit on transactions using a debit. Also, the fraud department can barely speak English even though it's India's primary language. Yep, they offshore their fraud group. This is scary as a lot of scams come from Indian call centers. Yet they are the ones keeping the fraudsters away? Good luck trying to use a pay app with your account. I can't get a simple Venmo to go thru even after talking to member services and the fraud group multiple times. Their service has a lot to be desired these days. As soon as possible, I'm moving to a different CU after 20+ years as this has gotten out of control. I had to scrap Google Pay as Altra kept flagging the transaction when I tried using it and bounced me back and forth between departments. Now it's the same with trying to use Venmo. Save yourself the headache and hours of wasted time and look for a different CU or bank to manage your funds. You'll be thankful!
