Jackie Is THE BEST! Jackie Is THE BEST!! i was having a rough time this year financially and I was behind on my car loan payments. I was so stressed with all of the things happening in my life i thought my only option was to default on my loan and give up my car! Jackie not only helped me with a plan to keep my car and still make payments but gave me the encouraging words I needed to hear in my darkest hours! She is truly a diamond amongst coals!

Excellent service, great benefits, kind staff Staff at Altra are personable and kind. Not only is there no fee for checking, but you get interest. I had a great experience getting my first mortgage and with refinancing when the interest rates had dropped. My debit card has been protected by fraud alert staff. It just feels both safe and homey to bank at Altra. Even though I moved to the Twin Cities over 8 years ago, I've continued to keep my money at Altra because of the positive experience I have had there.

Fraud - Lack of accountability and assistance Some impersonated Altra Federal Credit Union, called me from Altra's number, and proceeded to steal money from my account. Drained every cent. Altra was not able to do anything for me. Shouldn't there already be a procedure for cases like this? I'm sure it's happened to Altra members before. I called many different department's and was transferred to many different departments but absolutely no one was able to give me a direct answer or anything that could help me and my situation.

Helpful staff! I do most of my banking online. There have been several times when I needed help from one of the staff to complete a more complex banking issue. In each of those cases, I've found whoever I've dealt with to be very competent and very helpful to achieve my goal. That personal touch contrasts with the impersonal hands-off approach from national banks

You pay a fee to pay a loan. Tried making a payment on a loan over the phone and there's a $10 service charge... Went online to try and make an account and the page wouldn't load, so ended up paying the $10 fee to pay as a "guest". Making your customers pay a fee just to PAY their loan. Smart business decision..
