GBAbsolutely horrendous customer support Absolutely horrendous customer support. They recently denied two claims I filed after my two dogs required emergency vet visits, and they said ‘anything done by a vet isn’t covered.’ Where else would I take my dogs? What other medical expenses would I incur OUTSIDE of a veterinary clinic? I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone, anyone at customer service to explain to me exactly what is covered and why I’m paying over $200 a month for 3 dogs if emergency care isn’t covered. But nobody is responding via email or phone. I’m going to cancel my policy immediately. If you’re considering healthy paws, I would very much recommend looking elsewhere.

GBHighly recommend This is our second dog enrolled with Healthy Paws. Over the years we have had only positive experiences. The claims have been processed quickly and all claims have been paid promptly and according to the policy. And most recently, when our pup had some health issues and ER visits a Healthy Paws rep followed up to see how he was doing.

GBSolid coverage, good communication and customer service My cat recently needed a surgery to remove a tumor. I filed a claim and Healthy Paws followed up promptly (within 24 hours) with a clear description of the documentation needed to verify coverage. The filing process was very straightforward, and I was provided clear explanations for which items in my invoice were and were not covered based on my policy. The vast majority of the surgery fee was covered and I received reimbursement checks in the mail within about 2 weeks. The team also sent a very caring individualized follow-up note checking in on how my cat was doing.

GBDietary indiscretions and hip dysplasia, all covered Healthy Paws has been insuring my dog since he was a puppy. While the premiums are not cheap, their coverage has seen him through a number of "dietary indiscretions" and an early diagnosis and gradual decline of hip dysplasia. They have never fought me on a claim and the assurance of knowing they are there has kept us going through all the ups and downs. Veterinary care has changed so much in my lifetime, and the costs associated with it have grown staggeringly. I've spent enough time in vet's offices to know I never want to be that person in tears, choosing between a life-saving procedure for their pet and family essentials. Consider pet insurance a necessary part of owing a pet, no different than food and toys. Buying insurance is "buying a good night's sleep." Do yourself a favor, and budget in a policy for your pet when he or she is young. You won't regret it.
