I have been with American Home Shield… I have been with American Home Shield for over 5 years. Their service is very prompt and courteous. Anytime I have had a emergency at home with maintenance or appliances, they have been really good about sending service on the same day or next day

False advertising and promises from AHS! I read pretty good reviews with AHS and left my old home warranty company as they were not very helpful with previous claims to sign up with AHS. I signed up with AHS in early March. This year, it has been pretty cool and cold until now in April when it is getting warmer. I turned my A/C on recently and discovered that it was not throwing cold air. Their A/C repair guy came to check unit and said it was secondary to leak of condenser coil and called it a "pre-existent condition." How can it be pre-existent if it did not start working until now. AHS did not want to put their part even though the contract clearly says it covers corrosion and condenser leakages. They are complete scam artists! I will be cancelling now and looking for a more honest company. Thanks for nothing AHS!

Customer Service Issues I have several accounts with Home Shield, at this point I have multiple issues. There is no escalation process in order to talk to a manager, there is no interdepartamental communications between them, and they do not commit to there warranty and will essientially lie. I was trying to set up A/C tune ups which are free with the Platnium Plan and was told that I needed to talk to sales because they were not included. Talk to Sales and they stated it is and they transferred me to Service. Service then says it is no longer available, I informed him that I have an email stating it was extended. He then stated that service is no longer offered in Nevada. It is frusting dealing with service when there is an issue.

The worst The worst. Had an air conditioner compressor go out. Sent contractor and said they would fix the a/c but my portion would be $800. No details just agree to paying $800. Did some calling and found out the extra was for uncovered costs for refrigerant. Contractor cost was 110$ per pound. Local industry standard charge is 60 per pound. Contractor cost is $14 per pound. He later called and said he was sorry but signed a lock in price contract with AHS that he had to charge that much. Of course, HS denied that. My contention was either they forced the price, or they hire contractors who inflate their price with no concern for the customer. I settled for cash payment ($704) Which proves homeowners cost for uncovered is always more than customers extra costs. I received an email that I would recieve my payment deposited in 1-3 days. After a week and many calls, they are saying our system isn't working. Payments aren't going out. don't know when it will go out. This explanation was after one telling me it would be 14-21 days, Another to simply wait another day. No one who can really answer questions or give accountablilty. All phone numbers go to a phone operators who have to reach out to their managers and get back to you.

AHS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AS EFFECTIVE AS A MERRY-GO-ROUND What went wrong is that AHS makes it impossible to get through to someone within the company who can make/override decisions of the customer service reps in the Philippines. I thought it was a law that if I were to ask to be transferred to someone stateside who was fluent in English that the out of country employees would have to do so; however, they tell me they have no way of connecting me to anyone stateside. They do give me a telephone number for their HQ in Tennessee, but that's a waste of time because you cannot get a live person on the telephone. It's all robotics. So, if you have an issue to resolve, you might as well throw it to the wind. You'll get the same result doing that. I'm going to search for another home warranty company. I'll make certain I can reach a live person in their stateside office before I sign up. If that doesn't work, I'll just put my premiums aside each month and self-insure.
