GBRates went up 40% with no accidents or driving violations. I have been with Metromile for 3+ years now. Initially it was a great deal and good value. They were acquired by Lemonade which is based in SF and NYC. I think we are basically paying the rents of these young people who don't know how to run a company profitably. I have had no accidents or tickets and my rates went up 40% -- so high that I can get similar policies from Progressive or GEICO which I am going to do. I do not recommend either Lemonade or Metromile for your pet insurance or auto insurance. I am in the process of moving one or both.

GBI've been with metromile for over 3… I've been with metromile for over 3 years. Rates have only increased in small increments and even decreased at times. I have had 1 claim, and that's why they loose a star. I submitted everything online, received confirmation, etc. Their Web system never spoke to the claim system, so I had to call in and go over everything again with the phone agent (who was very friendly and helpful)

GBOverpriced and inaccurate milage calc The MetroMile base rate (rate if you drive 0 miles) is more than most companies charge. They also inflate the milage you drove, the pulse devise consistently records more milage than my odometer. The final insult is that when I switched to another insurance company, Metromile is threatening to charge me for the pulse devices even though I returned them.

GBCrooked Insurance Company I was trying to cancel my insurance with this company and they would not cancel it until I reported them to consumer protection agency. They wanted to charge me on no signal fees for as long as they could for a car that was sold. They will try to charge you on technicality. Do not trust or do business with this company. I cannot imagine if I would have got into an accident, how would they protect me. Their customer service is pathetic. It does not matter who you talk to. They sound and act like robots. The are owned by Lemonade insurance. They are a tech company.

GBI like Metromile because I don't drive… I like Metromile because I don't drive that much so the fact that I can just pay for the miles I drive is a plus for me. When I first signed up, I was worried about going to road trips but I was pleasantly surprised that all miles over 250 per day are free. However I do think that the base rate could be lower.
