GBDevices are a bummer The insurance itself has been fine. The devices are pretty bad though. There are two options. One plugs into the OBD2 port, the other plugs into the "lighter" port. The first drains my battery because I don't drive enough to offset the small steady drain. The second doesn't connect within the average duration of my occasional short drives, so I wind up getting alerts that it hasn't connected for too long, and then I have to go drive around to get it to connect. Since the whole point of the insurance is that it's for drivers who drive very little, having neither device work well for that situation is pretty problematic.

GBMy preferred auto-insurance provider Rates are reasonable. Customer service is well above average. Whenever I had a flat or needed a jump, Metromile's roadside assistance proved to be extremely useful.

GBOverpriced and inaccurate milage calc The MetroMile base rate (rate if you drive 0 miles) is more than most companies charge. They also inflate the milage you drove, the pulse devise consistently records more milage than my odometer. The final insult is that when I switched to another insurance company, Metromile is threatening to charge me for the pulse devices even though I returned them.

GBOutstanding auto insurance company Outstanding auto insurance company. I get a really excellent base rate, decent mileage rate, and when I'm local it's around $55 a month. When I've traveled 4,000 miles in one month it came to $180. Full coverage including roadside and uninsured motorist. Excellent rates, excellent service, excellent coverage. Telephone representatives are totally professional. Best auto insurance company out there in my opinion.
