About One Reverse Mortgage, LLC

When choosing a lender, it’s important to work with the best! Founded in 2001, our company has grown to become the largest retail reverse mortgage lender in America*. It’s also important to work with a lender that has credentials. One Reverse Mortgage is approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and our loan program is insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA). Companies approved by both the FHA and HUD must follow strict guidelines that help protect consumers. We also have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and are a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA). Blog About Us Where We Lend Contact Us

The whole process was a little… The whole process was a little unnerving because it involved our biggest asset and we were not sure we were doing the right thing. With the help of our loan officer, Richard Martin and his team, we glided through the process and felt reassured and more confident we made the right decision.

My experience has been great with One… My experience has been great with One Reverse mortgage. My loan officer Melissa Hossein has been responsive, pleasant, knowledgeable and always made me feel like she was working in my best interest (something hard to do when one's commission is riding on your closing). My only problem with this experience is in the closing because the HUD1 is not reflective of the actual good faith estimate of the Reverse Mortgage verbage and documents. That is not One Reverse's fault but this needs to change so that what you are signing is the same as what you agreed to in the close with same language.

Melissa and Abby were wonderful Melissa and Abby were wonderful. The stars given are theirs. However someone in your underwriting department just did not want to do this loan for reasons that I suspect but can't prove. Forgetting to cross a T or dot an I caused endless delays. An account opened for tires with a balance of $250 brought everything to a halt. We have outstanding credit, high balances that are paid in full every month, no debt to speak of. Everything was exactly right yet someone kept finding another reason to delay it. The loan finally closed three MONTHS after starting the process. By the way, any document asked for was scanned and sent the same day it was requested. I understand the second appraisal slowed things down a little but there was still something else going on here. Would I recommend One Reverse? Unfortunately I would have a hard time doing that. I am just glad it's over.

Great people to do business. The personnel were very busy people and we were working together at holiday time. Even if the person you wanted to speak with wasn’t available to take the call, they would generally return the call in around 15 minutes. We felt that they were on our side in any discussion. In any case, we closed our transaction and even did so in our home. Overall we’re very satisfied with the outcome.
