GBCharging me an insane amount of money… Charging me an insane amount of money for rent, then they closed ALL of the amenities even though it is not required by law. They are now refusing to negotiate a rent concession even though my rent is $3,500 and I have no access to any outdoor spaces or the gym that I PAID FOR! To break my lease, which I just re-signed on March 1st not expecting to have ZERO amenities, they are going to charge me $7,000. Remember, tenants, WE HAVE LEGAL OPTIONS!

GBTHEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! After living at Bell Fontaine for two years I can honestly say DO NOT RENT THERE or at any of Equity residential properties. They will rip you off and you’ll see it in your move out charges. They charged me to replace carpet that was under warranty and didn’t need to be replaced. They also charged me astronomical fees for cleaning and painting. There was no damage to anything in the unit, just simple wear and tear. Be prepared for them to raise your rent 10 percent every year and to retaliate against you for moving out by charging you unjust move out fees. You’ve been warned!

GBEquity does not make smart decisions Equity does not make smart decisions. Our elevators have been broken for years, they continually break down causing long delays. Equity decided to renovate the entrance/lobby (when it was completely fine) for millions instead of fixing the elevators because "it wasn't time yet." Additionally, tenants have asked for a key fob to be placed on a side door. When the quote came back for a few thousand dollars, it was denied, despite the multimillion dollar renovation already underway. We have also been asking for dog feces DNA testing because so many careless owners don't clean up after their dogs in the court yard. I have had to replace three pairs of shoes now because I have stepped in it while walking. Equity does not care about tenant happiness, only the bottom line. Eventually this will catch up with them.

GBRents to sex offenders and does not disclose to families My husband and I wanted to move into their Promanade location in California. When we discovered another location in town also run by equity residential. We were told to apply to the new location and we would be refunded the deposit on the first application. We found out hours after we applied to the second location called Portifino has a registered sex offender living in the same community. Because of this we decided to deny the community when we were approved. I understand keeping the deposit for the second one bc we denied it, but I believe we should get our deposit back for the first apartment. We have tried calling for the last week to speak with someone and it goes to a VM. I have left messages to both communities as well as the Equity residential office for California and no one has gotten back to me. Shame on this business for: 1. Not responding to people after taking their money. 2. Accepting sex offenders in their community and not informing future residents with children about this before they put in a deposit. If they were unaware of the sex offender in their community they should give the deposit back.

GBResident appreciation R̥ͦe̥ͦg̥ͦg̥ͦi̥ͦe̥ͦ, has been a great support r̥ͦe̥ͦg̥ͦḁͦr̥ͦd̥ͦi̥ͦn̥ͦg̥ͦ any lease leasing or facility questions..🏆 However regarding loyalty regarding long-term residents we don’t get any recognition or appreciation .. especially every year our lease goes up tremendously.. that lets me know that this agency is not looking for long-term loyal great residents.. residents that pay Early every month..we don’t smoke don’t drink don’t party take care of the facility .. we feel like they’re trying to push us out every year .. ..
